Details
Creative Victoria is the State Government body dedicated to championing, growing and supporting Victoria's creative industries.
We invest in the people, organisations, events and projects that make Victoria a creative state, and provide opportunities for Victorians to enjoy a diverse range of cultural experiences.
Big ideas and extraordinary talent drive our creative sector, which spans the performing and visuals arts, music, design, digital game development, film and television, fashion, literature and publishing, and more.
We’re proud of our local artists and creative professionals and support them to develop and maintain thriving careers here in Victoria.
From solo practitioners, grassroots collectives and small businesses to major organisations and institutions, we support the sector at all levels. We do this through a range of programs and initiatives that raise the profile, reach and impact of Victorian creatives, and by investing in a strong creative ecosystem.
We also oversee the State's $7 billion portfolio of creative and cultural facilities, assets and collections, including Victoria’s iconic public cultural institutions. Working to safeguard these treasures ensures that all Victorians have access to the opportunities, experiences and inspiration they offer. Guided by the principles set out in our Creative State 2025 strategy, Creative Victoria works to grow the cultural, social and economic impact of the State’s creative industries for the benefit of all Victorians.
We are part of the Department of Jobs, Precincts and Regions and report to the Minister for Creative Industries.
